Regional connectivity offered to Nepal

DHAKA:  Outgoing Nepali ambassador to Dhaka Hari Kumar Shrestha met Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at latter’s office in city on Sunday.

PM’s press secretary briefed the media after the meeting.

Congratulating the new government of Nepal through the envoy, the premier said that hopefully, the new Nepal government will reflect people’s expectation through their works.

She also wished progress of Nepal under the leadership of present government.

Remembering the damage due to devastating earthquake, the premier said Bangladesh always ready to reduce sufferings to quake victims.

Regarding regional connectivity, Sheikh Hasina said that Nepal can use Bangladesh’s Syedpur airport and Mongla and Chittagong seaports.

The PM further hoped that bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries will be stronger day by day. She also put importance on the frequent visits for the high-ups of both countries.

The Nepal envoy handed over greetings letter of Nepal President Bidhya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to the Bangladesh premier.

The ambassador lauded Bangladesh’s development and progress under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He also praised PM’s leadership in socio-economic development of the country and women empowerment.

PM’s International Affairs secretary Gowher Rizvi and PMO secretary Suraiya Begum, among others, were present during the meeting.
