Field-level officials vow to work together

JESSORE: Field-level officials of both Bangladesh and India made a conscience to work together at the joint border conference on Sunday afternoon.

Moreover, participating officials of the neighboring countries vowed to omit the existing barriers in strengthening the bilateral trade.

The officials made the assertion at a press conference held at Jessore deputy commissioner (DC) office after the border conference.

India’s North 24 Parganas district deputy magistrate (DM) Manmita nanda and Jessore DC Dr Mohammad Humayun Kair attended the press conference.

DM Manmita told the media that they have agreed on joint border survey and exchange information between North 24 Parganas district and its bordering Bangladesh districts of Satkhira, Jessore and Jhenaidah to curb crimes.

DC Humayun Kabir commented that the friendly relations between two neighboring countries will be stronger through this conference.

‘We have also vowed to work together in stopping human trafficking and smuggling,’ the DC added.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh-India joint border conference was held at Jessore DC office auditorium.
