DHAKA: Energy secretary Abu Bakar Siddique has passed away at Squire Hospitals in city on early Monday (November 30).

He was 58.

Power, energy and mineral resources ministry senior information official Mir Aslam Uddin told banglanews.

Siddique got admitted to Square Hospitals as he had been suffering from heart diseases and lung cancer.

The energy secretary will be buried at Banani Graveyard, the information official said.

Earlier, Siddique worked as secretary at posts and telecommunications ministry and chairman of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC).
