MANIKGANJ: Due to dense fog, the authorities of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) temporarily halted the ferry services on Daulatdia-Paturia route since Friday night.

BIWTC Paturia Ghat commercial department assistant manager Mohiudding Russel told banglanews that the decision to halt ferry services was taken around 10:30pm.

Five small and large ferries with vehicles and passengers on board remained stranded at the mid Padma. 

The service will resume whenever the density of fog decreases, he added.
