CHITTAGONG:  Police, in overnight drives, arrested 55 wanted accused in different cases from different places of Chittagong district.

Several teams of police conducted the drives between Friday night and Saturday dawn.

District additional police super (Special branch) Kazi Abdul Awal told banglanews that of the arrestees, 11 were accused in regular cases while 44 others were warranted in different cases.’

During the drives, 500 pieces of Yaba tablets were recovered from Chandanaish upazila while 400 and 122 pieces from Lohagara and Banshkhali upazilas, he added.

Besides, 20 litres locally made liquir were sized from Hathazari upazila of the district, Kazi Awal also said.
