MANIKGANJ: The ferry services on Daulatdia-Paturia route resumed Saturday morning after more than 10-hour halt due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.

Earlier, the authorities of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) temporality halted the services on the route to avoid accident. 

BIWTC Paturia Ghat commercial department assistant manager Mohiuddin Russel told banglanews that the decision to halt ferry services was taken around 10:30pm of Friday.

Five small and large ferries with vehicles and passengers on board remained stranded at the mid Padma. 

The services resumed around 9:00am when the density of fog decreases, he added.

Mohiuddin Russel also said over 400 vehicles have remained stuck at Paturia Ghat area as ferry service halted for long.
