FROM PADMA BANK: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the river training work of Padma multipurpose bridge at Zajira point of Shariatpur district on Saturday (December 12).

The premier reached the sites in a helicopter around 11:15am and later inaugurated the river training work for the bridge.

Then, she is scheduled to inaugurate the construction of main structure of Padma Bridge at Mawa point in Munshiganj district in the morning.

Later, PM Hasina will address a civic rally. People from nearby districts --Shariatpur, Madaripur and Munshiganj — thronged the river banks to join the rally.
 
The whole area has been decorated with colorful festoons, flags. Multi-colored banners were seen around the embankment of Padma banks. There are pictures of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
