DHAKA: Visiting US envoy Thomas Alfred Shannon commented that there is no link of militant outfit Islamic State (IS) in killing bloggers and foreign nationals in Bangladesh.

Shannon, who is currently a Counselor to the Secretary of State John F. Kerry, made the comment during his courtesy call to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in city on Sunday (December 13).

Sheikh Hasina said that the law enforcers have been playing an important role in investigating the attack incidents and arresting the criminals.

They have also made progress in the investigations and also been able to detain some of the people, who were involved with the incidents, the PM added.

She also condemned all sorts of terror incidents and extremism.
