CHITTAGONG: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman dreamt of a strong navy for the country.

He also demanded to set up naval headquarters in Dhaka in the historic 6-point Demand during Pakistan rule, the PM added.

The PM made this assertion at President Parade marking the passing out of Midshipman-2014/A and DEO 2015/B batches of Bangladesh Naval Academy at the academy parade ground in Chittagong Wednesday.

She said that after the country’s independence Father of the Nation felt the necessity of a strong naval force to save the marine border from the enemy.

Earlier in the day, the PM Sheikh Hasina arrived in the port city on a five-hour tour.
