One Bangladeshi killed in KSA

RIYADH: A Bangladeshi was stabbed to death and four others injured by a group of muggers in front of Jamal Commercial Center at Al Batha in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday evening (local time).

The deceased was identified as Abdul Halim Pathan, 42, hailed from Chhaliakandi village under Muradnagar Upazila of Comilla.

The injured were identified as Najrul from Fulgazi Upazila of Feni, Iqbal from Dhaka, Jasim and Motaleb from Chauddagram Upazila of Comilla.

Deceased’s friend Liton confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Quoting witnesses he further said Abdul Halim and four others went to rescue a Bangladeshi as a group of eight muggers were trying to rob from him in the area around 7:30pm (local time).

The muggers, then, attacked them and stabbed, leaving Abdul Halim dead on the spot and four others injured, he added.

Later, local people chased the muggers and detained two of them and handed them over to police.

Abdul Halim’s body was kept at New Safa Makkah Clinic at Batha till the filing of this report.
