KHAGRACHHAHI: The driver and helper of a pickup van were killed and two others injured as the vehicle turned turtle in Jaliapara Missiontila area in Guimara upazila of Khagrachhari district.

The accident took place on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as pickup van driver Nasir Uddin (37) and its helper Sagir Ahmed (28).

The injured were Nasir’s mother and wife.

Police said that the victims were going to Chittagong by the pickup van. The accident occurred as the driver had lost his control over steering while giving side to a motorcycle, leaving the driver and its helper dead on the spot.

Guimara Thana sub-inspector (SI) Yasin told banglanews that the bodies were sending to Khagrachhari Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
