CHAPAINAWBGANJ: A government employee of Roads and Highways (R&H) Department was beaten to death by the stalkers in the district town on Tuesday for protesting their activities.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Hannan, 45, a security guard of R&H Department. He hailed from Alinagar Bhutpukur area in the town.

Sadar thana OC Ahsanul Haque told banglanews that Israil Hossain, Saiful Islam and Anwarul Islam stalked Fatema, daughter of R&H Department employee Mohammad Ali, while returning home with her mother at about 2:30pm.

The stalkers also hurled abuse to Fatema’s mother and assaulted her father when they protested the incident. Hannan who was on the spot at that time also protested their evil act.

Later, the miscreants picked up Hannan from his office gate at about 3pm and beat him to death.

Police recovered the body from a saloon.

A case was filed in this connection.
