DHAKA: The Muktijoddha Central Command Council Thursday issued a warning to two of the candidates in its elections as they “violated” the electoral code of conduct.

The council announced the action at a news conference Thursday in the conference room of the Press Information Department at Bangladesh secretariat ahead of its elections slated for June 26.

Secretary of the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry Shafiq Alam Mehdi, who is also the election commissioner of the council, told the press conference that the other candidates were also given verbal warnings.

He however did not mention the name of the two candidates given warnings in writing.
