DHAKA: Eight newly appointed High Court (HC) judges took oath on Sunday (February 12).
Chief Justice (CJ) SK Sinha administered the oath around 10:30am at Judges Lounge of the Supreme Court, while Supreme Court Registrar General Syed Aminul Islam conducted the oath taking ceremony.
The eight judges are Justice SM Mozibur Rahman, Justice Amir Hossain, Justice Khizir Ahmed Choudhury, Justice Razik-Al-Jalil, Justice Bhishmadev Chakrabortty, Justice Md Iqbal Kabir, Justice Md Salim and Justice Md Shohrawardi.
The Law, Justice and Parliamentary affairs ministry had issued a gazette notification on Tuesday (February 7) that this appointment will be effective from the oath taking day.
President Abdul Hamid appointed the eight additional judges of High Court Division as judges of the same division.
They were earlier appointed as the additional High Court judges on February 12, 2015.
