CHITTAGONG: Terrorists issued a letter containing a threat to blow out the Chittagong Court, Customs House and Police Commissioner’s office if BNP leader Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury is not released immediately.

Chief Judicial Magistrate of Chittagong court Mir Rahul Amin received the threat on Sunday.

The letter was sent under the banner of Rawjan-Fatikchhari locals.

Confirming the matter, additional police commissioner (prosecution) of Metropolitan Police Rezaul Masud said names of some seven persons were mentioned in the letter.

He added: “We are looking into the matter.”

SQ Chowdhury was arrested on December 16 in 2010, a day after the International Crimes Tribunal had been sought permission to arrest him on war crimes charges.
