Bangladesh gets Tk 22,902cr remittances in first half of June

The Bangladesh Bank (BB) in its report on Sunday (June 22) said the country has received dollar 1.86 billion (Tk 22,902 crore) in remittance during the first 18 days of June. 

BB has revealed a detailed report in this regard today.

According to report, from July 2024 to June 18, 2025, the total inward remittance stood at USD 29.36 billion, which is 27.3 percent higher than the USD 23.06 billion received during the same period in the previous fiscal year.

In May alone, remittance reached USD 2.97 billion, the second-highest monthly figure in the country’s history. The highest was recorded in March, when remittance inflow hit USD 3.29 billion.

Throughout the current fiscal year, monthly remittance figures showed steady growth. In July, it stood at USD 1.91 billion, rising to USD 2.22 billion in August and USD 2.40 billion in September. October saw a slight dip to USD 2.39 billion, followed by USD 2.20 billion in November and USD 2.64 billion in December. In January, remittance amounted to USD 2.19 billion, then increased to USD 2.53 billion in February and peaked at USD 3.29 billion in March. In April, the inflow was USD 2.75 billion, followed by USD 2.97 billion in May.
