Singer among two killed as bus bangs onto private car in Natore

NATORE: A bus rammed into a private car at Palidah in Lalpur upazila on Friday morning, killing a prominent ghazal singer of the northern region and his car driver both.  


The deceased were identified as singer Ainuddin-al-Azad and his driver Aslam Sheikh, 40.
Police sources said the accident occurred on Iswardi-Lalpur bypass at about 7am while the singer was going to Rajshahi to sing his popular songs at a cultural programme.


The driver died instantly in the fatal accident while the singer was injured fatally.
Ainuddin, hailed from Jhenidah district, was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where the doctor on-duty declared him dead at around 12noon.


Lalpur Thana OC Tarikul Islam said Ainuddin was the director of Nayapaltan Music Center in Dhaka.
