RIYADH: Majid Al-Dosari, a Saudi national who weighed 380 kg, died of acute pneumonia, in Dammam Central Hospital in Saudi Arab on Tuesday.
The Health Affairs of the Eastern Province in Dammam announced on Tuesday morning the death of an extremely obese patient, Majid.
Majid had been undergoing treatment to reduce weight in one of the hospitals in the eastern city.
He repeatedly experiencing low levels of oxygen in his blood and his health deteriorated after suffering from acute pneumonia. The illness made it difficult for him to breathe and eventually lead to heart failure.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah had directed health authorities to send Majid and his sister, who is also obese, to USA for treatment. However, Majid passed away before he got a chance to travel.
