BNP calls for countrywide protest rally tomorrow

DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) called for countrywide demonstration and protest rally tomorrow - June 20th protesting government’s harassment on journalists and interference on mass media.

All BNP Union leaders and activists, Pourasavas and district BNP leaders and activists have been instructed by BNP high command to make the demonstration successful.

Top BNP leaders are scheduled to deliver speeches in different parts of the capital.

BNP Chairperson and main opposition leader Begum Khaleda Zia held a divisional rally on May 19 at the Capital’s Paltan and announced a mass demonstration on June 9 at the Engineers Institution protesting government’s interference on the Justice division. Khaleda Zia also called for a countrywide demonstration and protest rally on June 17 to voice against government’s harassment on journalists and interference on mass media. The demonstration day was rescheduled to June 20th due to Chittagong City Corporation election.

A dawn to dusk hartal (strike) is called for June 27 to protest gas-electricity-water crisis, deterioration of law and order situation, price-hike of the essentials, contracts with India, Tipaimukh Dam closing and torturing the opposition party leaders and workers.
