Bangladeshi dies in NY accident

NEW YORK: An expatriate Bangladeshi woman was killed in a road accident in Queensor Seventh Avenue in New York on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as Nishat Hossain 58, a staff of chain fast food Mc Donald’s and wife of late Monir Hossain, hailed from Chandpur Sadar upazila of Bangladesh.

New York Police source said that a rashly driven mini van rammed Nushrat while she was crossing the road, leaving her injured critically.

She was rushed to North Shore University Hospital where duty doctor declared him dead.

Her only son Faysal Riaz said that her mother was very hard working and he urged to the authority to take an immediate initiative in this regard.

He also asked for help to the community to send the body to Bangladesh.

However police could not seize the van or even the driver after passing 24-hour of the accident.
