LAXMIPUR: Two people were killed and another four were injured as a passenger bus knocked down an auto rickshaw near BCIC industrial zone on Laxmipur-Chittagong highway of the district on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as an auto rickshaw driver Chhuttu, 25, and Omar Faruk, 26.

Witnesses said a rashly driven Laxmipur-bound passenger bus rammed an auto rickshaw near BCIC area, leaving Chhuttu died on the spot and Omar Faruk succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.

The injured persons were admitted to the Sadar Hospital.

Laxmipur Sadar Thana Officer-in Charge Iqbal Hussain confirmed the matter to banglanews24.com.
