At least 468 people were killed and 507 others injured in 432 road accidents countrywide during the ongoing the ongoing restrictions in the month of April.
In the month, 38 were killed, nine injured and two more remained missing in 14 waterways’ accidents, said a report of the Passenger Welfare Association of Bangladesh Sunday.
The association compiled the report based on news published in different newspaper, said a press release issued by the association.
In the road accidents, 112 drivers and 36 other transport workers, 82 pedestrians, 26 students and seven law enforcement agencies members were killed in April.
The highest number of accidents, 221, was involved with trucks and covered vans, 144 with motorcycles, 64 with Nasimons and karimons, 55 with battery run auto-rickshaws and easy bikes, 30 with cars and 20 with buses.
