MOULVIBAZAR: Five people, including a minor, were killed as lightning struck them near Birampur area under Sreemangal upazila and Kormoda union of Kulaura upazila in the district on Sunday noon.
    
The deceased were identified as Rahi Mia, 7, Sumi Akhter, 22, Shakil Mia, 25, Turok Mia, 58 and Selina Akhter, 30, from Kulaura union.  

Local sources said that lightning struck the victims at around 12:30pm while they were taking bath in a waterfall near to their house leaving four of them died on the spot.

Meanwhile, Selina Akhter succumbed to her injuries as lightning struck her at residence yard.

Sreemangal Thana Officer-in-Charge Abdulla confirmed the matter to banglanews.
