Bangladesh is set to celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr this year on Friday, amid the Covid-19 pandemic that has already killed more than 12,000 people across the country since March last year.
In line with the Muslim lunar calendar, the last day of the fasting month of Ramadan has been observed on Thursday and the Eid will begin on Friday.
Like previous year, the biggest Muslim religious holiday will be celebrated in a different scenario, without any outdoor program and Eid congregations at Eidgah grounds across the country because of the coronavirus pandemic.

A total of five congregations will be held subsequently at the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram celebrating upcoming Eid-ul Fitr following health guidelines.
The first jamaat will be arranged at 7am, the second Eid jamaat will be held at 8am and third one at 9am, the fourth jamaat which is to be held at 10 am and the last Eid jamaat will be held at 10:45am.
