Early vaccination in Patiya: Badiul Alam demands action

Jubo League Joint General Secretary Muhammad Badiul Alam urged the authorities concerned to take action against those who carried out unauthorized inoculation programs in Patiya Upazila.

He called for bringing them to justice as there is no mercy for the offenders in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He also warned that no desperate activity like unauthorised vaccination defying the government directive will be tolerated.

Badiul Alam issued the warning while addressing a programme marking the distribution of relief to 600 families and seeking salvation of the martyrs of the August 15 carnage in Patiya municipality under Patiya upazila on Thursday.

The programme was organised marking the birth anniversary of Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Badiul distributed sarees, lungis, rice, pulses and other essential commodities to the 600 families of ward 8 of the municipality at the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, he said there is politics among the super powers of the world over the coronavirus vaccine while many countries could not manage it.

But Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina managed 21 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine during this critical period following her strong diplomatic efforts and the vaccines started reaching the country gradually, he said.

The mass vaccination is going to be held and the government has announced the programme in this connection, said Badiul. “We’re working to make people aware for receiving the vaccine on behalf of our party,” he said.

“But, Patiya is hitting headlines for the negative which is very shameful for us,” the Jubo League leader said, urging the health department officials to take action against those who were involved in this scam.

“Our party men will always be with the Prime Minister who sent us to stand by the people and serve them. We’re trying to take essential items at the doorsteps under the supervision of Jubo League Chairman Sheikh Parash,” said Badiul.

He also urged the people to abide by the health rules to prevent the coronavirus.

Badiul recalled Bangabandhu and his family members and prayed for their eternal peace as the nation lost them in this month of August.

Former President of Patiya Awami League Md Hanif presided over the programme while another former President and Freedom Fighter Samshuddin Ahmed was present as the chief guest.

Former Principal of Chattogram Fine Arts College Prof Abdul Alim inaugurated the relief distribution programme.

Jubo League Patiya upazila unit former Joint Convener DM Jamir Uddin, upazila AL Religious Affairs Secretary Md Yunus, AL leader Shahjahan Chowdhury, Krishak League’s upazila unit General Secretary Md Abu Syed, Awami Matsyajibi League upazila unit Convener Saiful Islam, former Jubo League Information and Research Secretary Liton Barua and workers’ leader Khorshed Alam were present as specials guests.

Jubo League leaders Sujan Barua, Saiful Islam Saifu, Saifuddin Bhola, Ujjwal Ghosh, Chhotan Acharjee, Dihan Chowdhury, Mezbah Karim Irfan and Bangladesh Chhatra League leaders Sajjad Hossain, Md Najib, Md Shakib, Amir Quddus, Md Faisal, Md Rafiq, Md Rifat, Md Ridoy, Md Noman and Md Mohiuddin also addressed the programme among others.
