NATORE: An elderly man and his wife were burnt alive by miscreants in Kuzipukur Dhobagari village under Lalpur upazila of the district on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Habibur Rahman and Sufia Begum.

Sources said that miscreants broke into Habibur’s home, hit the victim and set him on fire pouring petrol and fled the scene, leaving him dead on the spot.

Meanwhile, victim’s wife was also injured. She was Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday morning.

Confirming the matter, Lalpur Thana Officer-in-Charge Matiar Rahman told banglanews, “Police sent the bodies to Natore Sadar Hospital morgue.”
