Two people, including a college student, were killed and two others injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Araihazar upazila in Narayanganj on Wednesday (Oct 12).

The deceased was identified as Md Nafiz, a class XI student of Safar Ali College, and Dulal Mia, 55.

According to locals, the accident occurred in the area when a Narsingdi-bound bus of Badhan Paribahan crashed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction around 8 am, leaving its two passengers dead on the spot and two others injured.

Araihazar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Azizul Haque Hawlader confirmed the mater.

The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), he said.

The bodies were recovered from the spot and sent to the Sadar General Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
