BNP men thronging Nayapaltan for rally

Supporters and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) started thronging at the party's central office premises at Nayapaltan ahead of its pre-scheduled rally today (July 12).

Dhaka north and south city units of the party will jointly organise the rally at 2pm.

Earlier, BNP got permission for holding the rally for three hours.

According to their announcement, from now on, BNP will be on the field with one-point movement to oust the present government.

The party men are seen coming to the rally venue in brief processions from different wards chanting slogans, carrying placards and posters.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will speak at the rally as the chief guest.

Party sources said it has taken all-out preparations to show off its organisational strength at the rally by ensuring huge gatherings of party men from all parts of the capital and its adjacent districts.

BNP will announce their joint one-point movement to compel the current government to hold the next parliamentary elections under a polls-time caretaker government after quitting power.

It is also likely to announce a series of nationwide programmes, including public rallies, long-march, sit-ins, human chains and besieges, from the rally as part of their one-point movement.

The party has a plan to intensify the programmes and go for a harsher movement gradually, the insiders said.
