BNP to hold protest rallies in metropolitan and district cities on Monday (July 31) to protest the alleged attack on party men during Saturday’s sit-in programme.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, secretary general of the party, made the announcement at a press conference on Saturday.

He said: “Since Awami League will hold programmes on Sunday (July 30), we are holding our programmes the next day. So there will be no violence.”

Earlier, the standing committee of the BNP held a meeting at Chairperson's office at Gulshan in the capital.
