BNP started a public rally on Monday (July 31) afternoon protesting the attack on BNP's peaceful sit-in programme. 

The event commenced at 2:40 pm near the gate of the historic Suhrawardy Udyan, adjacent to the Engineering Institute in Dhaka.

As part of the party's countrywide programme, BNP's Dhaka south and north city units have arranged the rally. 

Party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will address the gathering as the chief guest.

A huge number of leaders and activists of the party from different city areas have gathered at the venue.

Meanwhile, a large number of law enforcers were seen deployed near the venue area to control any untoward incident.

On Saturday, BNP Secretary General announced that the party would hold rallies in all cities and district towns on Monday to protest the attack on the party leaders and workers during their Saturday's sit-in programme.
