Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) President Saddam Hossain visited the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Headquarters on Monday (September 11) regarding the recent torture of two BCL men in a police station.

BCL President entered the DMP Headquarters at 12 pm.

According to BCL sources, the meeting was prescheduled, and Saddam Hossain went to hold a meeting with the DMP chief regarding the recent alleged assault and torture of two BCL leaders in a police station.

BCL president, however before entering the meeting did not want to comment on the matter.

On Saturday night, Shahbag police station and BCL sources said ADC Harun was talking to another female police officer near Bardem Hospital. At that time, the husband of the woman police officer went there with two leaders of the Central Chhatra League. 

Later, Harun took the two Central Chhatra League leaders to Shahbag police station and brutally tortured them, later two injured were rushed to a private hospital for treatment, sources added. 

The injured are Central Organising Secretary and Dhaka University's (DU's) Fazlul Haque Hall unit President Anwar Hossain Naeem, and Central Science Affairs Secretary and Shahidullah Hall unit General Secretary Sharif Ahmed Munim.

However, following the incident, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Ramna Division Harun-or-Rashid was withdrawn from his post on September 10 and attached to public order management.
