SYLHET: At least 13 people were injured in a clash between activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of Awami League, and Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, over establishing supremacy in Sylhet Polytechnic Institute.
Locals said that being obstructed by BCL to enter into the campus, Shibir activists locked into a clash with the obstructers, leaving 13 people of both groups injured critically.
Shibir claimed that two of their leaders sustained bullet injuries in the incident.
Confirming the matter to banglanews Officer-in-Charge of South Surma Thana Ranjan Samanta said that additional law enforcers were deployed in the campus area to avert any unwanted situations.
