DHAKA: BNP leaders and activists pledged to boost anti-government movement after they placed floral wreaths to the grave of party’s founder Ziaur Rahman Friday.
Party’s acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam said, “We will no more endure the killings, forced disappearance and abduction to suppress opposition for holding power for indefinite period.”
He also said that they gathered there to take oath to boost movement against, what they called, illegal government.
Later party chairperson Khaleda Zia started distributing foods among destitute in 24 spots of the capital on occasion of 33rd death anniversary of Ziaur Rahman.
