DHAKA: Newly elected lawmaker from Barisal-5 constituency Jebunnessa Afroz, widow of late Awami League lawmaker Shawkat Hossain Hiron, will take oath on Sunday.

Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will administer the oath ceremony at the parliament at 10:00am.

The constituency fell vacant after Shawkat died on April 9. The by-polls at the constituency was held on June 15 where Hiron’s widow Jebunnessa emerged as the winner from the ruling AL.
