DHAKA: Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj invited the 10th National Parliament’s Opposition Leader Raushon Ershad to visit her country before leaving Bangladesh.
She had a 20-minute meeting with the Opposition Leader at latter’s office in the parliament around 12:00pm Friday.
After the meeting Raushon said besides, exchanging greetings at that time they also discussed bilateral issues including power, Teesta deal, enclave exchange and so on.
Later, she left Dhaka by a special Indian fight from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport after wrapping up her three-day tour.
Earlier on Wednesday, Sushma arrived in Dhaka by a special flight. Foreign Minister Mahmood Ali welcomed her at airport while other officials from Foreign Ministry were present.
Indian External Affairs Minister, just after landing, greeted the people of Bangladesh and expressed her hope about further strengthening of Indo-Bangla friendship.
This is the first visit by any top Indian leaders after Modi’s ascension to power.
She met with the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia too during her visit.
