DHAKA: BNP vice-chairman Major (retd) Hafizuddin Ahmed on Saturday said the nation has lost their property as the incumbent government gave less importance to the matter of the country’s maritime boundary.
“The nation has lost their property. So, it was not a victory for Bangladesh,” he said.
The senior leader of the party came up with the assertion while addressing a press conference at BNP’s Gulshan office in city on Thursday noon.
He said, “The disputed 25,000 square kilometer area was the property of Bangladesh but India took 6,000 sq km with South Talpatti.”
The former military official also said the government didn’t give importance to the case where India appointed lawyer but Bangladesh didn’t appoint any lawyer.
