DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khaleda Zia claimed that the incumbent government is making the country dependent on others by destroying the several sectors, including agriculture.
She made the observation while addressing an iftar mahfil organized by Agriculturist Association of Bangladesh (AAB) in a city hotel on Thursday.
The former prime minister of the country blamed the ruling party saying that they had withdrawn all facilities in the agricultural sector, which was provided in the tenure of BNP-led government.
The incumbent government has also made obstacles hiking the price of power, the BNP chief remarked.
Not only the agriculture sector but all the sectors are being destroyed by their carelessness, she added.
Urging the pro-BNP agriculturists to be united against the government, Khaleda said they would set movement to remove the regime and establish the rights of voting by arranging election under the caretaker government.
Former vice-chairman of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Dr AM Faruk, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee member Dr AR Gani, among others, were present at the mahfil chaired by AAB conveyer Anwarul Nabi.
