COMILLA: Islami Chhatra Shibir on Friday called two day hartal in the division starting from Sunday protesting death of Chauddagram upazila unit Shibir president Sahab Uddin Patwari in a gunfight with law enforcers on Thursday night.

Comilla town unit Shibir president Shah Alam announced the shutdown in a news release at noon.

Besides, he also declared arranging protest processions in every upazilas and districts of the division on Saturday.

The news release also said plain dress police members detained Sahab Uddin Patwari from his Chandiskara village residence under Chauddagram upazila at 5:10pm of Thursday.

Later, they “shoot him to death at midnight” and Sub-Inspector of Chauddagram Thana Ibrahim left the body at Comilla Medical College and Hospital morgue Friday morning, it added.
