DHAKA: Ruling Awami League’s publicity and publication affairs secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud categorically said that BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia should quit from the party’s helm as she could hardly manage any supporter in the city to attend her protest programs.

He came up with the assertion in an anti-blockade program, organized by ‘Swadhinata Parishad’, at the auditorium of National Press Club on Saturday noon.

Hasan Mahmud said that Khaleda Zia is the main problem in BNP as well as in 20-party ally.

According to him, BNP can only regain public support if they minus Khaleda.

He also urged the civil society for not requesting for any dialogue with BNP. It rather inspires them to continue their violent activities, he opined.

Mahmud asked everyone to raise their voice against BNP’s violent activities.

He also assured the audience reiterating that no election will be held in the country before 2019.

Food minister advocates Qamrul Islam and Awami League city unit organizing secretary Shahe Alam Murad, among others were present at the program chaired by ‘Swadhinata Parishad’ advisor Hasibur Rahman Manik.
