Jamaat trial act in next cabinet meeting

DHAKA: Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister  Advocate Anisul Haque said the draft of the International Crimes (Tribunals) Act 1973 (amend) with necessary changes to try an organization for war crimes would be placed before the cabinet meeting on Monday.

He came up with disclosure while talking to journalists at his secretariat office in an instant reaction after International Crimes Tribunal-2 awarded death penalty to Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdus Subhan on Wednesday.

Mentioning that the draft of law to try an organization for war crimes is now in the cabinet division, he said, “The proposed changes would be placed either at Monday’s cabinet meeting or next meeting.”
