JOYPURHAT: At least seven persons, including district Awami League (AL) women’s unit president, were injured as two cocktails blasted at a peace rally held on Muktomancha of the district town.

One of injured was identified as Rebeka sultana.

Sources told banglanews that the blasts took place around 5:15pm.

Ruling AL along with its allies was holding a peace rally protesting the ongoing political unrest, sources added.

Immediately after the blasts, the alliance leaders and activists set fire to district unit of BNP office located on Station Road.

However, the injured are undergoing treatment at Joypurhat Sadar Hospital.
