DHAKA: BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Tuesday filed a petition seeking withdrawal of the arrest warrant issued against her in Zia Orphanage and Zia Trust graft cases.

Khaleda Zia’s lawyer Advocate Sanaullah Mia filed the petition with the Bakshibazar make-shift court in city.

However, Special Judge Abu Ahmed Jamadar will hear the petition at noon.

On February 25, the court issued the arrest warrant against three persons including, the BNP chief and vice-chairman Tarique Rahman, also son of Khaleda Zia, as they were absent in the hearing of the two cases for a long period.
