CHITTAGONG: Police detained 10 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir in drives conducted at Government Haji Mohammad Mohsin College and its adjescent areas in Chittagong on Wednesday.

The port city Detective Branch of Police additional deputy police commissioner SM Tanvir Arafat told banglanews that they detained eight Shibir activists from hillocks inside Mohsin College and one from its New Hostel.

Police later in a drive at Shramik Kalyan Federation office and nabbed Baitul Maal secretary and also seized some replicas of firearms and some documents of the organization.

The drives will continue, the police official added.
