DHAKA: Law enforcers detained 84 persons including BNP-Jamaat activists from Jessore and Satkhira districts.

The drives were conducted from Friday midnight to Saturday morning.

A Jessore district police control room source said that the detainees, accused in several cases, were produced to the court at noon.

Moreover, police nabbed 37 including 16 activists of BNP and its key ally Jamaat-e-Islami from different parts of Satkhira district.

Satkhira district police special branch officer-in-charge (OC) Sheikh Emdad Hossain said that the detainees were accused in the cases of creating violence in the district.
