DHAKA: The country is set to experience a hartal-free office day on Sunday after several weeks as BNP-led 20-party alliance preferred countrywide demo on the day to press their demands.

BNP joint secretary general Barkatullah Bulu made the announcement issuing a press release Saturday afternoon demanding the return of BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed and other missing leaders.

The statement said the alliance will organize demonstration in districts, upazilas, thanas, municipalities and metropolitan areas of the country protesting the return of Salahuddin and other leaders, the killing of alliance leaders and activists and mass arrests as well.

In the statement, the senior BNP leader also hoped the 20-party alliance will get victory if people of the country get back their right to vote.
