CHITTAGONG: Ruling 14-party alliance lended support to Awami League (AL) mayor candidate AJM Nasir Uddin in upcoming Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) election.

The alliance leaders informed this in a meeting with AL leaders in Hotel Peninsula in the port city on Tuesday.

Central leader of the alliance and also Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) central working committee president Mainuddin Khan Badal MP said, “We lend support to Nasir and we will also work for him”.

He also expressed hope that Nasir will win the election with a big distance in votes.

JSD vice-president Indu Nandan Dutta, district Workers Party general secretary Shamsuddin Khaled Selim, Samyabadi Dal leader Amulya Barua, among others, were presnt in the meeting.
