DHAKA: Law enforcers, in special drives, rounded up 78 people, including six activists of BNP, from various areas of two districts in the country between Thursday night and Friday morning.
In Jessore, police, in a nightlong drive, detained 53 people, including three activists of BNP, from eight upazilas of the district.
Jessore district police control room source said all the detainees but three BNP men were accused in different cases. They will be produced before court on Friday afternoon.
In Narial, police, in a special drive, have arrested 25, including three activists of BNP, from various areas of the district from Thursday night to 9am on Friday, said Sardar Raqibul Islam, superintendent of Narail police.
Narail police control room told banglanews that of the arrestees, 11 from Sadar thana, six from Lohagara, three from Kalia and five from Naragati.
