DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Awami League (AL) Joint general secretary Haji Mohammad Salim joined the campaign for ruling party-backed mayoral candidate Mohammad Sayeed Khokon of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) elections.

Selim started the campaign from Friday noon after the Jumma prayer at Lalbagh Shahi Mosque of the city.

Sayeed’s personal assistant M Sumon confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said after having lunch at the residence of Haji Selim, the mayor candidate accompany by the senior AL leader will start campaign in the afternoon.

Earlier, Haji Selim started campaigning as mayoral aspirants but, stepped down from the election after party has given support to Sayeed Khokon.
