DHAKA: Jatiyatabadi Swechchasebok Dal, voluntary wing of BNP, on Friday announced countrywide demonstration for Sunday protesting the attack on the party men in Sylhet.
Organization’s central unit president Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel, general secretary Mir Sarfat Ali Sapu and organizing secretary made the announcement through a press statement.
The statement, signed by office secretary M Akhtaruzzaman, reads: A mass movement is continuing in the country to save democracy, people’s right to vote and human rights.
But, the government is trying to shun the movement by using the law enforcing agencies, they alleged.
The voluntary wing of BNP, in the statement, also demanded safe return of BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed and withdrawal of the arrest warrant against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Through the release, the leaders urged the government to arrange a participatory election after stepping down from power.
