Tabith to represent BNP in DNCC polls

DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) finally got Tabith Awal, son of Abdul Awal Mintoo, as mayoral candidate for Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) after his loan default charges were cleared.

Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Md Jillar Rahman gave him clearance after hearing on Tuesday night.

On April 1, DNCC Returning Officer Shah Alam declared Abith’s nomination paper valid, but not that of his father Abdul Awal Mintoo.
